We already know that Genesis is the special division of the Hyundai Motor Group that stands for luxury, advanced technology and impressive performance under the hood, and with every model they build, they demonstrate that it is worth spending time and money to satisfy even the most unsatisfied customers.
This is exactly the case with the brand-new 2022 Genesis GV60 Electric, recently unveiled by the South Korean auto manufacturer and branded as a top-notch electric vehicle in terms of technology, advanced safety features, and performance under the hood.
The electric car shares the manufacturer’s latest E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform), the same one underpinning the new Hyundai Ioni1 5 or the Kia EV6. And just like the aforementioned models, this one also packs a lot of safety features as standard.
Safety Features
The 2022 Genesis GV60 likes to brag with advanced safety gizmos, a lot of them ending with the “Assist” features – Lane Keeping Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, High-Beam Assist, Lane Following Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, or Remote Smart Parking Assist.
Others follow, such as Rear Side Monitor and Rear-View Monitor, Smart Cruise Control, Surround View Monitor, Parking Distance Warning for the front, side, and rear, or Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control.
The advanced safety features go hand-in-hand with the plethora of technology implemented in the cabin and which provides an extraordinary driving experience.
Technology Explained
First, that pops out in an instant is the new electric Active Sound Design (e-ASD) system, which is a premiere in a Genesis model. The system provides a wide variety of driving sounds via speakers, and that depends on the driving mode.
For instance, you can choose the car’s “Futuristic” sound or the sportier ”G-Engine” sound that mimics a combustion engine. There is also the “E-Motor” sound that somehow “reimagines the vehicle’s motor sound.”
Next, the cabin is uniquely designed for instant access to all sorts of gadgets and gizmos. There is the carmaker’s latest infotainment system, which displays the new information or other contents across the digital instrument cluster or the Head-Up Display.
Second, the Face Connect system lets the driver lock or unlock the doors by simply using face recognition, while the electric Limited Slip Differential and the Preview Electronic Control Suspension recognize things by using information from the front and rear camera. Last but not least, the 2022 Genesis GV60 Electric is the company’s first model to be equipped with a Bang & Olufsen sound system with an impressive 17-speaker package.
However, the cherry on top is the car’s 400/800V multi-rapid charging system with 350kW ultra-speed charging. It means that you can actually charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes while drinking your coffee in the morning.
And since we have already mentioned the car’s charging system, it is now the perfect opportunity to present the car’s juice under the hood.
Power and Performance
The standard rear-wheel-drive model comes with a single electric motor, producing no less than 225 HP and 350 Nm of torque, while the all-wheel comes with 99 hp up front and 214 hp at the rear, for an overall of 312 horsepower and 605 Nm of torque. Both feature the same 77.4 kWh battery pack, helping to achieve a mile range of 451 km for the standard and 400 km for the all-wheel-drive model.
Finally, the top model features two electric motors with 214 hp at the front and 214 at the rear, and a total of 605 Nm of torque, which is quite an impressive figure. And with the standard Boost Mode system on, it can reach 100 km/h in an impressive 4.0 seconds.
Let`s Not Forget the Exterior
While we have displayed the car’s impressive high-tech gizmos and a plethora of safety suits, we feel obliged to add a couple of things about the gorgeous exterior as well. And as we can see in the media gallery, the 2022 Genesis GV60 Electric looks fabulous with a wide choice of colors, such as Hanauma Mint, Atacama Copper, Sao Paulo Lime, Atacama Copper Matte, Carbon Metal, Melbourne Gray, Royal Blue, Vik Black, Matterhorn White or Uyuni White.
