The EV market has seen tremendous growth in the last few years as car manufacturers continue to introduce new fully-electric models. Trucks have been less of a focus of electrification but that is set to shift soon. The number of new electric trucks that will flood the market by 2025 is expected to bring about radical shifts in the market. Below are my views on the five best electric trucks arriving in 2025, which stand a chance to be popular in the market.
Table of Contents
1. Tesla Cybertruck
Starting with the most anticipated and debated pickup that is yet to come – Tesla Cybertruck which looks like a sci-fi movie star with its angular shapes. Whether people like it or not, Cybertruck is completely unique and will definitely get noticed no matter where it goes.
In addition to aesthetics, Tesla offers up to 500 miles of range, adjustable air suspension, up to 3,500 lbs of payload, and over 14,000 lbs of towing capacity. Acceleration and torque should be incredible with 3 electric motors that should provide an all-wheel drive system.
The odd design might not sit well with the masses but for Tesla followers and the initial adapters, then this will be the last word in starting up a conversation.
I’m glad they dared to take a design gamble and look forward to seeing these alien creatures on the highways. The quoted prices also look fairly low, though the final pricing is still uncertain in real-world scenarios.
Even if Tesla does not hit the extreme specs laid out and stays within the range of the suggested prices, Cybertruck might impress the doubters with its capabilities.

2. Rivian R1T
Rivian is not well-known, but it wants to make a massive impact with the R1T pickup model. Rivian has only recently entered the automotive space and has chosen to specialize in the production of electric adventure vehicles.
Based on what has been revealed so far, I have to say that Rivian has got the recipe for an electric truck right for the active outdoor types.
The R1T has an appealing sci-fi like design but is not as avant-garde as the Cybertruck and seems more like a traditional pickup. With its claimed up to 400 miles of max-range, quad-motor AWD power, Rivan seems to be well prepared to capture the light-duty truck segment, which has been the golden goose of EV manufacturers.
There are additional features such as the built-in flashlight and Bluetooth speaker in the gear tunnel storage compartment, which I found fascinating. Add the modularity of the bed and the camp kitchen, and Rivian provides aclass-leading sense of utility for those who want to go off the grid.
I believe the R1T will be particularly popular among recreational adventurers and those who wish to transition to green trucks on the weekends.

3. Atlis XT Pickup
With the XT Pickup, Atlis Motor Vehicles is setting itself above the current giants with a target of up to 500 miles range, 15,000 lbs towing capacity, and an optional modular bed extender. If Atlis can deliver on the promises, then those specs are far ahead of the competition in terms of offering.
Whether or not Atlis can build this mammoth of a truck and put it into production by 2025 as intended is yet to be seen. But on paper, the XT Pickup is an absolute game changer – a fully electric workhorse with power and range to meet the needs of serious towing capabilities.
It’s always inspiring to watch startups really drive the envelope on what is possible with an electric truck.
If Atlis is able to achieve this, then brands such as Ford and RAM will be forced to run to catch up in the full-size electric truck space.

4. Ford F-150 Lightning
Of course, the Ford F-150 Lightning is not as revolutionary design and specs-wise as the previous trucks; however, its importance cannot be overemphasized as the Ford F-150 is its best-selling model. Making America’s favorite pickup truck electric for almost half a century is Ford’s way of putting the nail in EV’s coffin and firmly establishing them in society.
The updates for the 2025 model year are expected to provide significant enhancements over the current Lightning; options for a range of 400+ miles to address range concerns.
Towing capacities should also experience a significant improvement, while power delivery and acceleration should be equivalent to the Tesla Cybertruck due to improvements on the dual-motor and proposed tri-motor AWD. Add to that the fabulous service network Ford has and the brand loyalty that most truckers have for the Ford F-150 Lightning, and then the Lightning has all the ingredients it needs to deliver on its name.
Current truck purists who are skeptical about EVs will have no option but to change their minds upon feeling the Lightning’s torque and its smooth acceleration.

5. GMC Hummer EV Pickup
The return of the Hummer moniker as an all-electric “super truck” after a decade in the wilderness was a shock but makes sense when considering that the original Hummer was a truck. As with the R1T for outdoor enthusiasts, GMC plans to capture off-roaders’ hearts by combining the legendary Hummer with GM’s new electric powertrain.
However, despite not being the most useful daily driver commuting pickup truck compared to its lightweight competition, I have no doubt that the GMC Hummer EV will become the go-to toy for rich off-road enthusiasts.
Powered by 999 horsepower, all-wheel drive, and equipped with such bonuses as Crab Mode that enable the car to move diagonally, this Hummer of the future will conquer the off-road.
Combine that with a promised 350+ mile range and rapid charging to fuel extended sojourns and it is obvious that GMC is pulling out all the stops to make the Hummer EV the best electric adventure pickup available for purchase.
I hope to catch sight of these with full accessory rigs and coated in mud as an eye-catching symbol of environmentally friendly off roading.

And that is my top five electric pickup trucks that are expected to kick-start the market revolution from diesel and gas to electric platforms. The large manufacturers of trucks are now waking up to the reality of electrification as they come to understand that electrification is the way to go in the future transport sector.
Each of these models described has persuasive advantages that meet the needs of the buyers of pickup trucks. Once capacities are enhanced and the costs are reduced, people who have some doubts regarding the electric truck will change their minds.
By the mid-2020s, these futuristic machines would be leading in the market for trucks and set on the path to converting truck enthusiasts into electric advocates. Welcome to the new era of electric trucks – stand back!
